This handcrafted wood McKenzie drift boat was the main attraction on the North Branch Au Sable River in northern Michigan. I purchased it from a professional guide in 2004 with hopes of becoming a part time guide in lower Michigan. This dream quickly faded as my small children became teenagers and my wife and I closed in on 25 years of marital bliss. I'll add, two of those years have been the happiest years of my life. I'm sure to add a year if I sell this boat and add a ring to her finger!

14' of solid wood construction with brass fasteners and oar supports. The bottom was firmly constructed with an additional composite laminate to handle the rockiest of river bottoms. You will see little noticeable wear. Center guide anchor control, knee locks bow and stern, anchor rope, anchor, oars, custom built trailer with white spoke rims and cover are all included. The only noticeable flaw presented during the construction faze of bending the bow port floor support. There is a small split on the inside runner approximately 5" in length. (note picture 4) This was completely filled with epoxy. This is an aesthetic issue only and has nothing to do with the stability or security of the boat. Most would only see it if they were retrieving a trout from their boot. At 5 1/2 feet in width and more than 24" in depth you will find this drifter to be near flawless in stability.

Simply put, I have stored this beautifully crafted peice of work for the past 4 years and it has yet to see the flow of the St. Joe, the river in Southern Michigan where we live. Covered and inside a garage, the mighty Mckenzie is looking for an owner that will give her the proper playing time.
