For sale is my 1998 Caravan Sport.
It is a 7 passenger van. with the "quad" seating option (four bucket seats and a 3 passenger bench seat in the rear). The second row bucket seats can be lifted forward easily to allow easy access to the rear bench seat.
The Van has approximately 152,000 miles on the odometer right now. I bought the van about 2 years ago with 124,000 miles. At that time, I replaced the engine with a quality used engine that had only 56k miles on it. So the engine has quite less miles than the body. The radiator, hoses and belt was replaced with new parts at the same time as the engine. The transmission fluid and filter was also changed at the same time. I changed the oil every 3000 miles since I've owned the van.
I have been driving the van daily for the past 2 years, including several long trips, the last trip was from NY to Florida and back again a few months ago. I would not hesitate to take another long trip with it, the van has served me well.
Specs on the Van:
- 3.3L engine
- Power driver seat
- Power windows
- Power locks with 1 keyless entry remote
- Air conditioner blows ice cold air
- Fog lights
The van isn't perfect, nor should you expect a 10 year old van with 150k miles to be. There is rust, including, but not limited to, the bottom of the sliding doors, around the rear wheel openings, and the drivers side strut tower. There are also various paint scratches and gouges along the sides and on the rear bumper. The only real dents I could find are on the rear tailgate, but they are barely noticable.
I want to disclose the known problems with the van, so that you know upfront. I do not want to hide any facts from any potential buyer.
- The brakes shudder when going down steep hills, probably just needs new rotors.
- The drivers side strut tower should be repaired at some point. Chrsyler sells an inexpensive kit to fix the problem. I can provide you with the details upon request.
- The check engine light is on. The trouble code indicates a problem with the Torque converter lockup. This light has been on for 2 years now. The transmission shifts fine and I've never had a problem with it, so I never could see the point of having it repaired.
- Parking brake cables need to be replaced. I replaced the rear axle, including the wheel bearings and brakes recently, and never replaced the cables.
- The AC compressor makes a loud "whirring" sound when the AC is on. The AC is ice cold. It has worked fine for the last 2 years. Just a noise.
I have a clear title with NO liens in hand and ready to turn over along with a bill of sale.
