I regretfully have decided to sell Bridget, my 1982 Lancia Beta Zagato with only 68,500 miles. I recently had the body and rims restored and painted; the car simply looks fantastic. This semi-exotic gets the looks too; it is really funny to watch the Mini/Porche/BMW drivers wrench their necks when you drive by. I have done alot of work to this car and have put quite a bit of money into it...I have over $3000 in the paint/bodywork alone. It still needs a few things here and there but most of the major stuff has been done. THE GOOD: The car has an Alpine stereo w/trunk mounted changer, custom rear/side mounted 6X9 Pioneer speakers, custom made stainless steel front spoiler (painted), rear spoiler, Hella driving lights, blinker kit (makes blinker and side marker lights work like BMW), new rear badges, Coco mats, 5 fairly new Falken Ziex Z3512 tires on refinished rims w/new caps, new windshield washer fluid tank, battery cutoff switch. Recent work includes: beautiful premium body/paint job, new timing belt, new battery, new front and rear struts, new suspension bushings, rebuilt power steering rack, new fuel pump and gas filter, installed refurbished gas tank with new sending unit, new gas line hoses, new thermostat, restored radiator w/new sensor, new door seals, fairly new rear top + much more. THE NOT AS GOOD: Every so often, the starter doesn't respond: I installed the recommended starter relay and it worked fine for a while; I believe the starter/solenoid needs to come out and the solenoid needs to be cleaned or rebuilt to solve this problem. The power windows are slow; the passenger side won't come down without the emergency crank (included), but will go back up electrically. I suspect a vacuum leak somewhere; the engine wants to stall for a second when you first brake, but runs fine while braking after that. The air conditioner belt is not hooked up and the system will need to be recharged to be operational; hey...plenty of air with the tops down. There is a slight power steering or oil leak on the manifold that smokes a little at start up but goes away after car is warm. Leather seats could use some dye; stitching has opened in rear bottoms also. Other than these minor items, the car runs and drives great and the engine is strong. I have a ton of extra new and used parts that I will sell separately, but I will let them go cheap if buyer wants them. New, used and reproduction parts are abundantly available for this car. The Betas and Zagatos are getting scarce, especially in this condition. Don't pass this one up. Selling in As Is Condition with No Warranty.
