Hello. You are looking at a 1986 Blue Bird School bus. Originally, this was an 88 passenger school bus. The bus is powered by a Detroit diesel engine. The engine runs flawlessly, starts right up and has good oil pressure. When it’s cold out, the engine needs to be plugged in, and yes, there is an engine heater on it. The bus is equipped with air brakes that work flawlessly, and do not leak. The transmission is an Allison automatic. The transmission shifts flawlessly through all four gears. Front wheel bearings are oil lubed. The bus will do 70 MPH, but sounds happiest running about 58-62 MPH. There is some surface rust on the body, but nothing major. The flashing lights work along with the air operated stop sign. The strobe light works. BOTH rear heaters work, as well as the front heaters and defrosters. The horn works. The windshield wipers work. All other lights work - head, tail, turn, stop, ect. The radio works. The external PA does not work though. All of the gauges work as they should and indicate no problems. There is the orginal, clear title in my hands.
All of the seats (except drivers) have been removed. Right now there is a futon and some misc. motor home conversion parts stored inside and will be included if you so desire.
The front passenger windshield has a crack in it. Does not affect vision at all, but worth mention (the mirror hit it, causing crack in the lower right corner.)
Also, IF you are interested, I have a kit available for this bus to turn it into an enclosed hauler. There are 2 ramps made of 3x3x¼ angle iron, 20’ long that would be mounted permanently in the bus over the wheel wells. There are also (2) 5’ ramps that get welded to the inside of the rear of the bus. The 5’ ramps also act as a hinge and get bolted to the floor. The rear of the bus then gets cut off and is held up by the hinged 5’ ramps. There are 2 uprights that bolt to the floor just ahead of the rear “door”. There is a jackshaft with 3 cable spools on it (cable also included). A 2000-4000lb winch (supplied by you) operates the center spool. The two outer spools turn with the center spool, extending or retracting cable over the two uprights at the rear, opening and closing the rear door. I have over $1300 in these ramps, but I no longer have a need for them if I sell the bus. You ARE NOT required to buy this kit, but it is available to you for an additional $600 to the final selling price. All you supply is the winch, the lumber (on top of the ramps), and labor.
If you are interested, I also have a stove, ice box, range hood, water heater, and roof top A/C unit available that we may negotiate a price on also.
I would not be afraid to drive this bus anywhere. Thanx for looking! Any questions - call - (920)464-0841, ask for Ryan.
5 day auction, and the reserve is set below scrap price! Bid often and bid with confidence!
I may be interested in a trade for a 23’ - 28’ sailboat.
