Item Description
70's micro midget pro built from texas serial no# 1234
Vehicle Description

This car was believed to have been built in Texas in the early 70's. I was on my way to Valentine Nebraska to meet up with a man selling me a modified midget. We met in a furniture store parking lot on the edge of town. The owner of the store seen us making the transaction on the modified midget. The store owner came up and asked if we'd be interested in a vintage micro midget. We said we'd take a look. It was in a large semi truck trailer. It had been there for years. This was in the early 90's. We were impress on the craftsmanship of the race car. The man said he purchase it in Texas. He said the car was really never raced account ran to lean/burnt piston. The car had a 1972 Honda 4 valve 250cc ran on methanol  that faced backwards and floated on two carrier bearings from the engine to axle and pivot ball to the frame and the maker machined a plate for the engine to run the drive chain for correct direction. The micro no longer has this set up. I put a 1982 Yamaha 125cc water cooled engine in it. The 125 has a new connecting rod, new rod bearings, thrust washers, end bearings and seals, Refreshed top end New wiseco piston and gaskets. The car has front independent  suspension and four individual torsion bars. This car is very well crafted and ahead of its time. The alloy/billet birdcages cover the rear bearings. Nice (see pic's)  The hand made fuel cell has alloy plates welded inside to keep fuel from splashing around and the blue anodize fuel cap is left hand thread aircraft. The throttle and brake pedals are made of alloy/ billet. Nicely machined. The brake line is fasten nicely with metal looping around the line and then riveted the the frame. The throttle is elaborately made. It has a long brass rod with throttle stop and heavy spring return and tucks in behind the snap in  upholstery. Speaking of  upholstery, (who ever did it) I'd love to complement them. They did a fantastic job. The nerf bars, bumpers and roll cage are chromed. The brake master is a airheart and the brake caliper is herst/airheart also. I didn't finish the shifter. Its 3/4 done. I was going to change it to the modern cable style shifter. The rear axle was steel but was changed to 7075 alloy 1 3/8. The rims are made by Kaiser and the tires are Hoosier slicks with the indicators holes showing lots of life.....left.  Email for more info Thanks.
