Up for auction is a 1953 Buick Riviera 2 dr Hardtop (no post), it has a 322 nailhead and a dynaflow trans, that has some major resto work done already. The interior is DONE beautifully redone seats, headliner, door panels and carpet. I bought this car about a month and a half ago and the first thing that i did was rewire the whole car up to the headlights. The i installed a pertronics ignition in place of the points system, I then installed new spark plugs and custom made the spark plug wires to be the perfect size. I then rebuilt the stock carb with a kit from Kanter automotive. I got all new belts and rad hoses, an original style battery and a NOS battery hold down. when the car was rewired (up to the headlights) i wired it according to the original shop manual, that means to start the car you simply step on the gas pedal and the switch on the carb activates the starter. Also i did install an electric fuel pump back at the tank and replaced the fuel line all the way to the carb from the tank (the gas tank is pretty dirty so i will have a new one sent to the winning bidder). The car starts right up every time, runs very strong, and it has a nice note to it because the is no exhaust on it yet. The paint is showing its age (no problem driving it the way it looks now) but with minor work it could look really nice. the brakes work quite well although I have not messed with them at all. The car has New BFGoodrich tires on it. Well if you have any questions feel free to call me at 505-350-9752 and to come by and look at the car. if you put a good paint job and some chrome work into this car it could be well above the average rating (about 12,000.00) on nada. low reserve and low buy it, get it before its gone!
Thanks, James
