Vehicle Description

This motorcycle is an inspiration in more ways than one! This is one of the rarest motorcycles you will ever find! An original 1941 New Zealand Military Indian Scout, Made in America for wartime duty in the pacific. This one even has the original metal Indian tag on the gas tank. 85% + Stock Historical restoration from top to bottom. Every nut, every bolt right down to the Barrel springs under the original seat is restored to perfection. It was restored and test rode, Has only about 25 miles on the fresh restoration. I bought this bike as a basket case, but we all know what that means... a whole lotta' work and slave love labor. I had to go to every old school "gate keeper" and Indian parts dealers in the nation to find all missing parts to be sure they were stock to this NZ model. As even the neck on the front headlight has to be a certain one. Mine is now correct. The photos shown in this auction are during the the end of restoration and also when completed. I spent my whole life looking for this bike and found it 9 yrs. ago out of NZ in boxes on a pallet. No one would have seen its eventual potential and historical value except for an old biker chick like me. But I knew what it was and I was unwilling to sell out and civilianize it as suggested to me by many wanna be's. That would have been easy, I don't do anything easy. So, in 1999 I set out on a mission and spent the last 9 seasons resurrecting it with the best old school builders and owners in the world. This is not just an old bike. This motorcycle is already famous in its own right. Not only did it see its war time. But when I restored it and it was complete, a photo shoot was done for our troops over seas. (One of many different) So this MC is known world wide and I am known as the "Pin-Up Girl" (thats my nick name) who took it on and never gave up until is was back on two wheels. During this birthing of an Indian the nay sayers' would always ask the never ending question : Are you crazy? The answer was always, For Gods Sakes,It's an Indian! Need I say more.
I then continued to show it and let it pump into the hearts of many old war dogs and Veteran bikers. It is truly one of only a handful left in the world. The size of the motor is stock 30.50 cubic in. Even has the black-out lights on front and rear. Always runs perfect on the first kick. Has a 16 tooth sprocket for more top-end, still stock. This one is museum quality and needs to be appreciated. I am only selling my dream bike because I had brain surgery and now need to find the next "keeper in time" for this historical treasure. I restored it hands on with the most famous and talented old school teachers. Thanks to Minnesota Chief "Indian Larry" Your dedication to this project is the reason why OLD Indians still rule. Mr.Markey, Ziggy and all you boys at Rocky's. Thanks for all your help and NOS parts. It took a lifetime to find it and 9 yrs. fulltime to find all the stock parts and it is restored to all the military specs. Just the front barrel spring alone on this bike took 2 yrs. to find! Left hand throttle-right hand tank shift. Left foot clutch and right foot brake. I have owned bikes my whole life and I can't say enough about how special this bike is. Freshly restored seat leather marked with the small Indian logo and OD Green paint. Even the paint that was used on certain parts was from the 1940's. Now, ask me more and I'll tell you alot. Serious buyers, I would be glad to send you more photos. I even have them of us restoring it. Have fun, bid like crazy because you won't find another one of these in YOUR lifetime. And if you do It will be in about 2800 pieces scattered all over the world. Not that I counted or anything (:-)
