This airplane is also listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this Auction early.
If you're ready to get your multi-engine rating, build multi-engine time, get a multi-commercial, or multi-instrument rating, there is in my opinion no better value or nor a safer platform than a 310. This 310C with its twin 260hp engines has fuel burn of approximately 24-26gph cruise, 30gph climb, with huge 1000+fpm climb performance, but more importanly, offers a 300 FPM climb rate at max gross on one engine, with the other shut down and feathered. This is a very important safety margin of the 310 that other light twins may not provide.
For Auction:
Being offered is a wonderful example of a classic 59 Cessna 310C that has been owned by myself and my partner in the North Texas area for the last 12+ years. We have always kept the airplane hangered and over the years have finished out all of the little details. The paint and interior are 9 of 10 and we always get favorable comments on the ramp. The logs are all in order with a recent annual, IFR certification and static as well as Prop AD compliance. The airframe is corrosion free. My partner and I are both well qualified instrument and commercially rated pilots and we've always maintained and flown this airplane with the care and respect it deserves. If you're interested in a reliable and very fun C310 with full IFR, dual nav/coms, 4 place panel mount intercom, DME, ADF, EGT and more, this might just be for you.
One of the engine times is high (100 over), but they still remain strong and reliable with compressions well within tolerances. The TBO for the IO-470D is 1400 hours and was established and frozen in the early 60's. Since that time, similar engines have been given 2000 or 2300 TBO's and I've been told that the IO-470 may also run this long with proper care for personal use.
Otherwise, the only inoperative item is the original auto pilot. The AP system is all there, but requires servicing by the dealer in Tulsa, OK. All of the servos and vacuum filters have been replaced by an A&P and all that remains is to have the AP reconnected to the vacuum system and calibrated properly.
The list of modifications and enhancements below is impressive. The previous owners also took very good care of this aircraft and made many improvements. During that time, the aircraft was located in Phoenix, AZ, again for more than 10 years.
