up for auction is a very rare pre world war II "flat-tailed" midget racer project. the body is all hand formed from old body panels/fenders/hoods etc.. the helmet pad on the tail tank didn't really start until after world war II, so we think this is a pre war version . the body has all of the classic compound curves that were prominent on this style racer from this period. the grill/nose piece is cut down from a 1934 oldsmobile passenger car. the grill/ nose piece is sectioned length wise and also shortened to align wiht the main body/cowl section. the frame appear to be a model "T" with a narrowed model "A" rear axle. the little racer has rear brakes only with an outside brake handle. we are not sur what the steering is. this car has a clutch pedal and uses a standard 3 speed V/8 60 horse transmission. this would be great for parades or shows as you can drive it like a car (no in & out box). the engine is a 1940 V/8 60 horse power with isky cam, edelbrock finned aluminum heads, 2 ford carbs, and an unknown 2 carb intake manifold. the transmission is from a 1939 ford V/8 60 horse passenger car. as stated previously this is a project and will require a complete rebuild of all components. but the reward will be great because most of the pre war midgets either did not survive or were converted to the post war versions. this project comes complete with main body/frame/running gear, one flathead V/8 60 engine, one transmission, and a spare model "T" frame. for any further questions please phone me toll fre @ 1-866-877-1932. i'm selling this car for a friend but i can answer most all questions.please ask for johnnie
