Item Description
Vehicle Description

1970 BSA 441 Victor Special Nearly all original. I’m no expert, but the fenders and speedometer don’t quite look “factory spec” to me. I suspect the headlight may also be non-stock. There is also a rather strange looking (but completely effective) spring on the compression release that I doubt is a stock part. I didn’t buy the bike as an investment or restoration project. At the time it was just a used bike - and it was a good one. The actual mileage was unknown when I bought the bike in 1976. I rode it (rarely) on weekends until 1987. Somewhere in that period the speedometer stopped working – but I rode it so little I never bothered to fix or replace it. The bike was put away after the 1987 season. In 1988 I got married, bought a house, and got into boating. As a result, the bike sat in my garage (actually three different garages) for the next 20 years. So while the actual mileage is unknown, I do know that it has to be very low. I finally decided to get it running again this spring - and it is doing so, quite well. It starts in 3 or 4 kicks, and I have ridden it to work (about 60 miles round trip) a few times with no problems. I recently purchased a set of tank decals, but have not put them on (I’m used to the bike without them). Of course they will be included – as will the original maintenance handbook (whose condition reflects it’s age more than the bike’s does). The tank, seat, and oil reservoir are all in excellent (but not perfect) condition. The battery cover has a small hole in it (from rubbing on the corner of the battery). The exhaust pipe is in good condition, but does have a dent (it was there when I got the bike, so I don’t know what happened). It’s been a very good bike for the little I’ve used it. I get lots of admiring looks and comments whenever I take it out.
