Okay, I think I’m about done with listing parts right now, time to start putting my TR7 back together – one last batch of parts, and they are air conditioning parts. This is the second batch of air conditioning parts I’ve put up – the first was most of the stuff under the hood, this is for the stuff in the car’s interior. Maybe I’ll put the compressor up one of these days, but for right now I’ve got these parts from the air (now just heater) box. Yes, heater box – I rebuilt it and took out all the air conditioning parts. The parts I took off it are:
· Cold matrix – the “radiator” that the cooled fluid goes through to cool the air.
· Hot thermostat – controls the hot water flow through the heater matrix – this is the part that when the rubber gives out and starts leaking it’s a pain to replace, and hard to find (last one I replaced I had to get a rebuilt one). This one was not leaking when I took it off the car.
· Cold thermostat – controls power to the air conditioning system, will cut it off if too cold (if I remember right…)
· Expansion valve – Okay, I’m not an A/C specialist and I’m not going to look the exact function up, just not that both tubes coming off this puppy are in good shape.
· Supply hose – takes the coolant to the air box. Good shape complete with a good rubber grommet.
· Connecting pipe. Connects the cold matrix to the return hose.
· Condensate tray – plastic tray for the water coming off the cold matrix when the A/C is in operation.
The air conditioning was not connected on this car, but the system was holding pressure (which since the A/C had not run in 15years is saying something). Might work, might be parts, you start the bidding off at $0.01 and take your chances! Yep, no guarantees, except this is used! Heck , the hot thermostat is worth it just to have a core to rebuild!
This comes complete in a recycled cardboard box, packed with care and just to be happy it is going to a new home. It weights around 12 lbs (7kg) if you’d like to calculate shipping using the ebay tool, and certainly should be able to fit in a box that won’t get an oversize fee tagged on!
I'm going through this car and getting rid of the things I don't need. You will see the fuel injection system, as well as air conditioning and emission control up for auction now or in the very near future. My goal is to put some parts on ebay each day - keeps me off the streets and out of bars. I'm also getting another whole TR7 for parts, so some of it will show up here. As always, no reserve, $0.01 starting bid, and buyer pays actual shipping cost.
Thanks for looking!
