I bought this bus in 2002 from a school system in York Town VA. It had just been removed from service and was in top condition. It had new brakes and fresh rust protection under coating. I used it for moving and storage for 4 years and the I drove it to Alaska and back. It is solid as a rock. The trip to Alaska was in the late Fall and I encountered 1500 miles of unplowed, snowy roads and temps down to -25 F. It was completely reliable. No trouble. For the trip back, I put on six brand new tires and had the rear axel rebuilt, replaced both batteries and all the belts and filters, and a new 200 amp alternator. I towed a full size pick up truck and drove down through California and through Death Valley. It never missed a beat and averaged 8-10 miles per gallon. For the last two years I have used it as a camping truck. I had the injector seals replaced and it now makes up to 12-14 miles per gallon when fully warmed up. (after 3 hours of driving) I would not hesitate to drive this anwhere a road could take me. I bought it with 187000 miles in the odometer. The odometer has never worked for me and I estimate I have put on 40000 miles on it my self. It has about 7000 miles on all the new mechanicals and tires. It is sold as-is, no warranty.
The interior has four captains chairs and a seat that folds into a bed. The front of the bus is carpeted. The middle has three bunk/seats with under seat storage. and a heater. The back of the bus has shelving for all sorts of gear. The back of the bus opens to allow a small car to drive in. The windows are tinted and all lights work. I am selling it to get another project vehicle, but will miss it dearly. Drive it home.

On May-13-08 at 17:58:27 PDT, seller added the following information:I carried a volks cabriolet on the trip to Alaska. Since then, I added a center bulkhead to make a room to stick my four boys while we drive to a camp site. I also added all the shelving for stuff. The tread patterns on the drivers rear tires don't match because one of the originals blew out halfway through Canada. Sorry the pictures aren't more clear. My wifes camera has a delay and I can't seem to keep it from moving! | | |
