| This little guy had nice solid floorpans when we started. There are no rust worries on this car AT all.
| Original style tool kit. Some of it was with the car. A few pieces were added. It looks to be lite a couple of screw drivers. Beautiful original jack.
|
| Gauges were all rebuilt so to be new.
| Original style interior. This would be what you saw when you crawled over the fence down at the small English car distributor in your town to get a look at the new cars in 1963.
|
| You are looking at the soft top frame. It folds back and then the trim panel are folded back over the frame where it is unseen.
| Here you see the rear trim panels folded in place over the soft top frame.

| All of the cylinders were completely rebuilt or replaced.

| Here is the car having the body smoothed out for a quality paint job. What you see is that this is the original paint color.

| This is a look at the steering components. This is why this car is NOT sloppy. It is tight because it has been made to be as new.
| This is a cool feature. This is a backwards extending header tank. It is a hold over from the TR 3. It is only seen in the early cars of the series. It was necessary in the TR 3 because of the forward placement of the radiator under the bonnet. It is a historical note in this car. Too much fun. It i
| A new paint job can often be judged right here. The unpainted components. The car was definitely be taken apart to paint. Dont mistake me. In some cars it wold be appropriate for the fittings to be painted.
| I like to look here to judge the quality of a restoration.
| Here the car is sitting in the shop.
|
| A look at the fan looking back up from the floor. So, I am putting you under the car as if you could do the inspection yourself.
| A nice view of the chassis and how this car was prepared to drive. Often all of the components are clear coated so to be seen in the high dollar cars. This one has had undercoat applied, as it would have been done by your dealer in 1963
| Here is a picture in the same shop. In the far background is the $130,000 e-type recently sold. The white car is my driver. In the foreground is an XK 120 S currently being restored.

This 1963 Triumph TR 4 has been restored by a very qualified British Restoration shop, JAG Enterprises, Inc. I am going to include some references to their cars at auction at Barrett-Jackson and R&M.
This car meets those same demanding qualities that they try to bring to a car pointed toward a major auction. This car was restored at my request. My intent was to enjoy the car. Unfortunately I have a couple cars that I have to choose between for garage space. This car will loose out. It is currently in the heated and cooled space at th restoration shop.
The car is sweet. The engine runs like a baby. If you are familiar with car of the era and prior eras you understand the car instantly. Think back about driving an MG TD and then what a rush it was to move up to an MGA or a TR 3. This car was the next step. It is exactly what British open motoring was about. The car is not as bumpy as the TD or have the skitishness of the TR 3.
The tranny is tight. It has, like many cars of the era, a little bit of a mind of its own. I have driven the car along twisting two lane roads, city streets and 4 lane divided highway. (it drives great at 70 MPH). The car is fabulous fun. I drive regulartly a '74 Jag roadster, a '77Alfa, a '74 TR 6 and a '98 Porsche. If you consider the era of the car and the characteristics in different decades, this car is hard to beat. You can understand the changes that were happening in British roadsters and European cars as well.
I wish I could keep them all. This car ought to be the center piece, or share the stage with other cars that mark an era. I have one daughter starting college and another just 24 months behind her. Enlarging the group which I keep for personal use is going to take a bit of a beating I suppose.
JAG Enterprises has not done a TR 4 for almost 3 years. That last TR 4 was such a neat car the auctioneer bought it. ( a well known auctioneer out of Oklahoma) He turned the car to a guy in Great Britain for 28,000 EU (Euros). I spoke to that buyer after he received the car. He expressed that it was better than any restoration that he had looked at in England. Today the selling price paid by that buyer would be equal to something in the mid-thirties in terms of dollars.
You will not have many opportunities to own a car like this. Usually whan a TR is restored to this level it is being done for someone who already owns the car and will never sell it. Many of the restorations you find in the market are done in someone's backyard, or has been done piece meal by a shop over a period of years while being driven all along. This sort quality is not seen at auctions or private sale as often as you wouldthink. I have been to many auctions. This is a Barrett-Jackson quality car. I could easily get this car in an auction such as that. It has the quality to be invited to be in such a sale but I am dedicated to the e-Bay community. I believe that we can conduct quality sales on e-Bay without the expenses of an auction. Buying on this level you don't have the expense of attending the auction, nor do we loose value by paying commissions. Consider, most cars that establish value in the market are saddled with both sellers and buyers commissions.
This car has been driven enough to shake it down but not so much to show any wear from the use. It has been driven less than 300 miles since finished. I hope to drive it a bit more to show to some friends and take one last opportunity to enjoy her before she moves on to become someone else's baby.
Take advatage of this seldom opportunity.
Following are some links for cars previously sold by JAG Enterprises, Inc.
"This car is from an accomplished Jaguar restorer (See the '69 XKE 2=2 sold by JAG Enterprises at Barret-Jackson in 2006
( http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/search/w_search.aspx#gridview )
ALSO see the fabulous XK120 sold by us at Amelia Island (http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=AM07&CarID=r194&Currency= )
As most of you know, you don't get in either of these auctions, especially Amelia Island without bringing the best of the best.
We specialize in British cars with an occasional special car from elsewhere thrown in. This is because the owners of JAG Enterprises are British car/Jaguar enthusiast themselves."
I am one of those owners of JAG Enterprises. This car was pulled by me as a personal car. Last month I sold for JAG Enterprises a '67 Jag e-Type roadster. It brought $130,000 at private sale. British cars restored at this level are doing well in the market. It is, in my opinion, a good investment opportunity without getting into the hundred thousand dollar bracket. Can you find any of your friends that are enjoying their stocks or Treasuries !! This is a good investment.
I know British cars. This is a chance you will seldom have. I will promise you the quality of this car is uncommon. It is a keeper. If I only had room you wouldn't have this chance but I don't and you do.
If you would like to talk to me about the TR please call Sam at 501 627-6277

TopDownClassics is associated with a restoration shop. Our cars that are subject to NUT and BOLT restorations are sold on our primary site(jagenterprises2000). Cars on this site have not, typically, undergone that complete process, but have, often, been subject to limited cosmetic or mechanical restorations or repairs. These are often fantastic Collectables and Classics in their own right. We are attempting to provide you with as much information as posible, whether positive or negative but these representations are not intended as warranties.
