Up for auction: super nice 1977 Honda CB750A Hondamatic with only 13,570 miles. Reserve is only $2199 and well worth it. I'll start the bidding at 99 cents but it's going to take a bid of $2199 or above to win this auction.

This is a bike you can get on and ride from day one. It doesn't need the carbs worked on, tires replaced, or any of the other supposedly small problems fixed that I see mentioned with other bikes. Funny how people will have a bike that doesn't run, or doesn't run right, and say it's just a small problem that can be easily fixed and once you do that then you'll be enjoying their bike in no time. If it's such a small easy to fix issue, why don't they get it taken care of instead of sticking you with their problems? I even saw another nice looking Hondamatic on here the other day that also had low miles. But when I looked closely at the pics, I noticed the speedo had been changed to one off a different model Honda and didn't have the low/high range indicators. No mention in the listing that speedo wasn't original and miles weren't legitimate.

If you really nitpick the bike, it might not be quite museum perfect but it's still one of the nicest 30 year old bikes I've ever seen outside of  a high dollar restoration. Keep in mind this is original besides the seatcover and hasn't been painted on. Where do I start with just how nice it is? Bike was kept indoors,well taken care of, and it shows. I know, everyone says their bike was kept in a climate controlled garage. You'll know that isn't just another story when you see the excellent original paint and just how clean the bike is in general, right down to the nooks and crannies of the framework. You know how bikes look that have sat out in the weather. They don't have shiny original paint but they do have rust and fading everywhere you look. I'm not saying a raindrop has never touched the bike, only that when it wasn't out being enjoyed, it was put inside and it was cleaned/maintained on a regular basis.

Clear title in hand of course. Selling price will be left up to purchaser to fill in so you decide how much sales tax you want to pay.

Specifically, paint is original and in great condition(especially considering the age) with excellent shine. Tires are less then a year old and have full tread. Bike starts and runs smoothly. Carbs have been cleaned and synchronized, points replaced with an electronic ignition so you'll never have to deal with points on this bike. Oil and filter were changed 3 weekends ago. Battery has been replaced, has a kickstart lever under the seat used for backup, brakes are good, 2 speed automatic transmission functions perfectly. Bike has the spoked wheels which I much prefer over the mag wheels found on the newer bikes. 4 into 2 exhaust, mufflers are in great shape, header pipes do have some blueing/surface rust but that's to be expected on a 30 year old bike. Seat cover has been replaced, has a small 1/4 dia. hole in vinyl, right side, could be repaired. Miles are a true 13,570, however this may increase slightly by auction end as bike is such a pleasure to cruise on, especially with it being spring here.  

Bike is available for inspection of course, please arrange to do that before the last day of the auction. Seems like someone always wants to wait until the last day and see how the bidding is going then show up hours before the auction ends thinking they can buy the bike and have me cancel the auction. Once reserve is met, auction will not end early even if someone local wants to buy it. Buyer picks up or arranges shipping. I prefer pick up so the buyer can inspect the bike and walk away with no hard feelings on my part if they don't feel I described the bike accurately. I will work with your shipper if that's the route you need to go but I will not arrange the shipping. Shipping quotes available through Ebay, although their company of choice is on the high side. JC Motors does door to door for better rates if you want to stay with a nationally known company. Uship.com is a great place to find the lowest shipping-put up what and where it needs to go and shippers compete to give you the lowest rate. Just some options for you. Bike does not leave until I have cash, Postal money order or cleared cashiers check payment in hand.
