Vehicle Description

- 1986 Peugeot 505 S - A more deluxe version of a GL with same 2.0 liter engine. Has 4 wheel disc brakes, 14 inch alloy wheels (2 missing lugnuts - one cracked center cap), fully independent suspension, rear wheel drive, 4 speed automatic. Also has heated front seats. I never had it running - too many projects. It's been sitting out back for a few years. Engine was not stuck when I tried it a couple years back. The claim when I got it was that it just needed a fuel pump. I was not able to get starter to turn motor over. All I have done to it is replace the rear passenger side door (original had a very bad bondo job and broken window). I did not reconnect lock and window wires. There is still a bit of marginal bondo just behind that door. Hood insulation is totally degraded - needs removed. I never signed the title - so still in original owners name - he signed it. Odometer still reads same as on title (issued 2001). Has dented driver side fender and small dents on rear passenger side roof. Some rust in driver rear quarter. Clear coat is peeling on hood and trunk lid (trunk lock button/latch stuck open). Broken right tail light - and missing side marker lens. Sold As Is.
- Update - I removed the hood insulation. I also rigged up power and have determined that the fuel pump is working but the starter relay or solenoid is not and the starter drive is a bit sticky - I jumped the solenoid and have gotten the motor to fire for about 1 second so far. Charging old battery and jump starter to try some more. Better start bidding - may up my starting bid if I get it driving around the yard before the first bid :)
- Another Update - 1 got it to run for 2 seconds this time. I believe it is just running on the starting electronic injector - fuel pressure is not up to par I believe (possible weak pump or intermitent connection). Done fiddling. Also, I noticed the peeling clearcoat does not really show in the pics - there is some peeling on the roof as well. Spare is rusty but holding air - does have a radio-tape player (no idea if it works). Also, only the drivers window and sun roof motors worked when switches pushed - others might be switch contact related (a known issue with these as I recall) and the one is not connected.
- Drivers window works as does sun roof. One rear not connected and the other rear is not doing anything either. The passenger window motor is trying but window seems stuck. I left a battery connected and it got totally drained so a bit of electrics to work out.
