You are bidding on a very clean, mostly original, 1965 land Rover Series II, 2 door, right hand drive, 109 long wheelbase vehicle with only 4100 miles. This vehicle was purchased less than a year ago, in Malibu, Ca. It was supposedly imported from New Zealand less than a year before that. I can not verify the history of this car, but I can verify that this car was repainted a few years ago to match the original paint. The paint is in very good condition, but is not a 100% frame off restoration car. The patina on the car, mixed with the original paint and interior is seamless, and looks like a perfect original car. What i'm saying, is that the car has been repainted, but it looks original.
Since purchasing the car, I have instaled (3) bench seats in the back, and purchased a new canvas top and all the necessary frame pieces to install. This was not easy to locate. the top and frame were purchased from TLR in Tennessee. (If you are not interested in the canvas soft top, I can sell that seperately, and change the price accordingly) I have also purchased new Land Rover floor mats, the 1/2 door for the rear area, new tail lights and new headlights, and some other misc parts. all parts were purchased from British Pacific, in Valencia CA. While there, some of the guys came out to look over the car, and by their observation, this car has NEVER had any bodywork or frame work done. There is no rust or damage to any part of the car. the underside is very clean, with no leaks that are not part of the normal drip here and there.
This car is perfect, in my opinion... it is not a total show car, and it is not just an ordinary driver. It starts every time on the first try, the brakes work, and everything is just right. The car looks amazing, and will turn heads at every stop.
The only work that needs to be done to this car are as follows... 1. One tail light is not working. I purchased all 4 new to replace all. One headlight is out.. I purchased 2 new w/ halogen bulbs. Other than that, it would be great to the soft top w/ roll up sides.
I hate to sell this car, but we have recently moved from malibu to santa barbara, and I have limited time now to enjoy this car.
