Moving to a new racing class, so this one has to go. Please note there is no reserve on this car, so bidders, please be serious and prepared to buy the car when bidding.
Up for sale is my Ford Escort GT ITA Prepared Race Car. Competes in SCCA ITA class and NASA E2 - would also make a great track day car. Very fast, reliable, well prepared car. Easy to drive and maintain, easy on tires and fuel. The most neutral handling car you will find anywhere. Competitive with Acura’s, Mazda’s and Honda’s in ITA. Car has many wins and podiums in highly competitive Florida Region. SCCA and NASA Logbook included.
Needs NOTHING – has fresh brakes and tires, oil changed, and already passed 2008 SCCA Tech, ready to race NOW.
Chassis:
• Entire car professionally built by MLR Motorsports.
• Six point cage with NASCAR Style Bars on driver’s side.
• Completely gutted interior (Except dashboard, as per IT rules).
• Low mounted fuel cell with large capacity for enduros.
• Corbeau seat.
• RCI Belts (recently expired, but have a new, in box set)
• Gauges – Tachometer-with shift light, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Exhaust Temp, Water Temp.
Suspension:
• Ground Control full custom coil-over suspension – completely adjustable ride height –Great for changing track set-ups and for corner weighting for different drivers.
• Fully adjustable camber plates in front (can be dialed in to as much as – 5 degrees.
• Strut tower reinforcement bar in front and rear (integrated with cage).
Engine:
• 1.8 Liter Ford/Mazda DOHC 4 Valve Engine.
• Free flowing air intake with K + N filter.
• Head rebuilt to the maximum of IT rules.
• ACT Racing clutch and balanced clutch/flywheel assembly.
• Custom, dyno tuned header and exhaust.
• Oil Cooler
• Aluminum Radiator
• MSD Ignition (Spare)
• Phantom Grip - Limited slip differential.
• Electric Fan
• Always run on Mobil 1 oil
• Insanely reliable!!!
Wheels, Tires and Brakes:
• Enkei Racing Wheels (9.5lbs each) One set. One set of custom made, custom spec wheels. One set of American Racing wheels for rain.
• Hawk Blue Race Pads – New set on the vehicle now. Also have many spare sets with mild wear.
• Stainless steel braided brake lines.
• One set of Hoosier’s – 225/45R15’s – Approx 40% left. One set of 205/50R15 Kumho 710’s with only one race on them. One set of rains 225/45R15 – TOYO RA-01 – approx 60% left.
Spares:
• One spare head – completely stock.
• Spare intake manifold
• spare stock radiator (in the car now).

Information:
• Weight of Car – Scales at 2380 with me (180lbs), gear and 5 gallons of gas.
• Turns 1:49’s at Homestead 2.21 mile course (full infield, no banks)
• Turns 1:43’s at Homestead with banks (3 and 4)
The bad:
• Paint is a little faded (a bit of polishing would get it back). Clear coat is intact.
• Rear bumper has a crack and is covered with race tape.
• Car has some racing dents and dings – all minor.
• Minor High RPM oil leak – ½ quart per race weekend.
• At 2345 lbs without gas, it is about 20 lbs over its minimum class weight of 2325. The other 20 pounds could be removed by stripping undercoating and or converting the passenger side cage to nascar bars and removing the passenger side window and door internals.
