I bought this car just a year and a half ago from it's 3rd owner from Laguna Beach who owned the car for almost 11 years. The 2nd owner lived in Illinois where the car was restored around 15 years ago. He purchased it from the original owner in Orange County, California. It has the original california gold plates from 57. This car has the original engine (1300cc) and fours speed transmission. During the year and a half I've owned the car, I've only rebuilt the single weber, recored the radiator and replaced the fuel pump. The car runs sweetly and the transmission shifts smoothly including 2nd and reverse. The car shows no signs of rust but sometime during its history, the rocker area under the body were replaced with new steel on both sides. There are two areas of the hood with small bubbles but have been that way since it's restoration, probably badly prepped paint (please see pics). The interior has two seats that are perfect, the door panels are perfect and the dash has no cracks or tears. The carpet looks presentable but is the only area of the interior that might need updating. The top was replaced during the restoration and has no tears or cracks and has never been used except during washing. The instrumentation looks great and probably was not restored years ago showing some fading on the graphics. The wheels and tires are in excellent condition. Because of my two young kids, I'm going to sell this car to buy a nice GTV so I can carry kids booster seats in the rear. I'll also consider trades. Foreign Auto Menders in San Diego can testify to the condition of the car, it's been serviced there since I've owned it. Good luck.
