1972 Slickcraft SS165, 16 ft. "V" hull design. Powered by 140hp Mercruiser IO. Built in Holland Michigan to handle the lake Michigan choppy waters. All hardware is solid stainless steel and are oversize for this size boat. All of the seats have been re-upholstered in 1997 with a heavy 22oz marine grade naugehyde. The hull is laid up with heavy glass mat and end grain balsa wood used as the core material between the fiberglass. All windshield glass is tinted safety glass set in a black anodized aluminum frame. The boat has a built in 18 gallon gas tank. A new engine and wiring harness was installed in 1991. The ignition system has been upgraded to an electronic ignition pack which, replaces the points and condenser. With no dwell or timing to set, tune-ups are just replacing the cap, rotor and spark plugs. A custom sun top was added in 1989 that covers the entire seating area. There is storage under all seats and a custom storage net installed under the dashboard. The main prop is a Mercruiser stainless steel shifting prop which starts out at 19 pitch and shifts to 22 pitch when on plane. A lower unit mounted swim ladder, made with a stainless steel frame and teak step pads, makes getting into and out of the water very easy. A factory installed ski tow pylon and a factory made custom canvas cover are unique to this boat. Also included: spare stainless prop, oil pump & spare gas filters, dock lines, water skis, ski vests and an Easy-Loader trailer with a spare tire.

These original Slickcraft boats are a rare find. Prior to being bought out by AMF around 1981, Slickcraft manufactured the finest small power boats in the country. This boat is easily one of the finest used fiberglass runabouts you'll ever find. This boat is excellent for cruising, skiing or wakeboarding. It has the power to have four adults in the boat and pull up a fifth adult on skis. The previous owner owned the boat for last 29 years and kept it in near show room condition. It has always been stored indoors and waxed routinely. I have taken care of all regular maintenance such as winterizing & tune-ups. I have kept a detailed service log on the boat since I have owned it. The carpeting is original and in very good condition but is matted down in the traffic areas. I have had to patch six small screw holes on the transom because of accessories that were removed. The holes were patched with the manufacturers own gel-coat so the color matches. This boat is in excellent condition. I ran it last Fall on 2 year old gas and it ran fine. Whomever loves classic, quality ski boats will enjoy this gem. Good luck.
