1998 Ford Windstar Minivan
You are bidding on a 1998 Ford Windstar Minivan. It is green with an gray interior. It has 225,200 miles and I have a clear Iowa title in hand and ready for the new owner. This vehicle has been my daily driver for the last year and a half and has been super dependable. Don't let the miles fool you – this minivan runs and drives great. Unfortunately I have accumulated too many cars and my wife says some have to go. I am selling this car with NO RESERVE and the highest bidder wins. See my other auctions for another car selling this week.
THE GOOD: The car runs and drives great and I would have no problem driving it anywhere. The interior is clean with only a small blemish here and there. There is one small hole in the drivers' seat about half of the size of a dime. It has power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, and COLD front and rear A/C which blows nice and hard! It also has a nice factory tape cassette radio with controls and headphone plug-in's located in the back. There are also controls for the rear A/C in the front and back too. It has 4 bucket seats and a rear bench seat. The rear buckets and bench seat are easily removed. The engine runs strong and does not leak oil, burn any oil, and does not smoke. Starts right up every time. Has a brand new alternator and all 4 tires are near new also.
THE BAD: There are many paint blemishes – scratches – chips in paint so please don't expect a beautiful paint job. The exterior is the biggest negative with the van. There is a slight crack in the front spoiler where it looks like the front bumper got tapped - see pictures. There is a rust spot on the rear drivers side wheel wheel, on the roof of the van, and some other small spots. See photos for these areas. The front windshield rubber seal came loose and I tried to reseal it with less than perfect results. It does not leak but it does not look great up close. The ABS brakes are also not working. I have pulled the fuse and the ABS light is on the dashboard. The brakes work fine without the ABS. Actually the ABS does work however they were extra touchy for me and engaged when I felt they should not during hard braking so I took the fuse out. As far as the brakes go everything is fine and it stops great but it will probably need some new brake pads soon I am guessing. Also, there is a (!) light on the dashboard. I have no idea why that is on. Not even sure what it means. Lastly, there is a overhead console which has a number of compartments – on one of those the latch is broken and I have a small sheet of paper folded up and wedged in it keeping it closed.
THE UGLY: The only real problem I have is water disappearing from the radiator. Once every week or two I have to add water to the radiator reservoir. I never see it leak out anywhere on the ground or under the hood so not really sure what is going on there. It has been like that for the last year and a half and never bothered me. Also, it does not seem to do it much in the winter – just mainly in the summer when I run the A/C. Weird! I have never looked it to it or tried to fix it so it may be something as simple as needing some stop leak or a new radiator cap.
This car is far from perfect and is also 10 years old so please don't expect a perfect brand new car. This car however has been super dependable and again I would not hesitate taking it anywhere. If you are not concerned with a perfect looking car and can stand a few minor problems then this car is for you.
I have bought and sold many cars on ebay with mostly good results however I have had a couple of bad experiences too. I want to assure you that I have been as honest as possible with my description and definitely don’t want any disappointments. That is why I make this offer, as should everyone who sells a car on ebay. When you come to get the car, if it is not exactly as I described you don’t have to purchase it. Look it over good, take it for a test drive, make sure everything I state is correct. I don’t want any hard feelings and want to make sure you are happy with your purchase. Purchasing a car over ebay sight unseen is risky so I want to make it as easy as possible. I have sold a number of cars on ebay with all positive feedback so feel good about bidding on this car! All I ask is to pick it up and pay for it within a week (cash or paypal only) or we can make other arrangements agreeable to both parties if that is not convenient. A $200 deposit will be needed within 48 hours of the auction ending which of course is refundable if the car is not as I stated.
Thanks and please email me with any questions. |
