Up for auction i s 1949 Chrysler Imperial
It can be a project, restoration, Rat Rod or parts car!
The car does need alot of work, however, could very easily be turned into a pretty cool every day driver or rat rod!
The engine does turn over and appears to have been converted to a 12 volt system??. I purchased the vehicle without a carburator, but recently purchased a carter carb at a swap meet for $75.00 that is included in the auction. I think with a little work this car would run and drive!
The aftermarket gauges shown in the pictures are also included, along with a set of bucket seats that appear to be from a Mustang. Also, all the original glass, handles and trim is in the car. Now, for the bad (or worse), the previous owner attempted to "chop the top" but I think he read one too many how to books that may have been missing pages! The good news is that all the pieces that were cut out appear to be in the vehicle. I cut the roof off to start over and that is as far as I have gotten. I lost interest over the long cold winter with no heat in the shop. I have been doing body work for a living for 10 yrs. and will say that this car can be made into a driver with a little patience. Unfortunately, I have way to many projects and this one must go. I am not expecting to get alot for this car, therefore, I will start the auction low and there will be an extremely low reserve!!!!
Vehicle must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end.
Car comes with a Clean WI Title!
Please ask any and all questions before bidding and I will answer them as quickly as I can and to the best of my knowledge.
On Jul-05-08 at 07:32:12 PDT, seller added the following information:I have had several people questioning if this car had the fluid drive trans. After further inspection, it DOES have it! I have also been told that the Imperials came with a 8cyl. and therefore, this is more than likely a Royal. Please feel free to ask any further questions if necessary, and sorry for any confusion.
Thank You
