For Auction is a 1981 Datsun 280ZX Standard Version.

It is not a boxy 2+2 or a GL version with all the T-tops, electric windows, mirrors, rear window washer or the other stuff that ruined the sports car abilities of this fine car.

The power is delivered by a 2.8 liter, 6 cylinder, fuel injected engine coupled with a 5 Speed manual transmission with 67,350 honest miles on the speedometer, This vehicle drives and handles very well and you can feel the road through the rack and pinion non-powered steering. It does have air conditioning and will freeze your butt. Matter of fact your can heat your feet while you A/C your body. Nice!

I am the second owner and had to have this car because I was forced to sell my 1972 240Z in 1975 when the baby arrived. My wife wouldn’t ride the baby in the back. Go figure! I wouldn’t sell it now but we are retired and downsizing to a condo.

I had it professionally painted because I didn’t like the beige color. The air dam and rocker panels have been plastic coated to prevent damage and there is none. There is no rust and it has been garaged in a heated building every winter and when not in use.

I have replaced the struts, clutch slave cylinder, rims, emergency brake cable, deck lift cylinders, wheel bearings, rotors, brake pads, door and deck rubber seals, radio and tires. The power antenna works fine and the picture of the wheel well shows that the suspension is rust free and solid. The dash is perfect with no cracks or fading.

Everything on the car is OEM but the radio and rims. I have the originals and they will go with the car along with a fitted cover, window sunshield, fender cover, and 2 service manuals. The rims are American Racing Outlaws and the tires are 135 mph rated, 195/70 HR/14 Falkens. Rims and tires are brand new.

The car has never been raced, wrecked, dented, or abused. It seems strong enough to race if that is what you want to do with it. It does show a few stone marks, the arm rest shows some wear, and the vinyl has separated from the backing in the very corner of the rear deck upholstery. I have a cover for the arm rest but the vinyl will be for your first project.

The car is in Mansfield, Ohio and must be picked up or delivery must be arraigned by the buyer in a timely manner. A $500 Pay Pal deposit must be sent on notice of successful bidding, and cash, money order, or cashiers check for the balance must be paid before title transfer. The title is in my home safe.
