This boat is a 1977 used Super Sunfish. It has the original
sunfish lateen sail and also has the super sunfish racing sail, spar and
battens as shown in the pictures. The boat also comes with the rudder, two
dagger boards and all of the standard rigging.
The Boat is in fairly good condition, granted there is normal wear and
tear on the hull with few scratches here and there. There is a patch in the cockpit
from the previous owner as shown in the pictures and the patch could use some
more work on it. I believe that the patch allows some water from the cockpit to
trickle into the hull. The sails are in good condition there are a few small
holes in the traditional lateen but the racing sail is almost in mint condition.
There is one dime sized hole found in the sleeve for the mast of the
racing sail. The rudder has a hairline crack but it does not affect its functionality
and the two dagger boards minus wear and tear are flawless. I believe I have
all the necessary equipment for the racing sail and racing setup, I have instructions
on how to setup the racing sail that came with the boat. I can tell you though
that the racing sail if used properly defiantly distinguishes itself from the traditional
sail in its speed and maneuverability.. I have used the boat with both sails
over the past four years and have found it to be and fun and challenging experience,
but because of my work and school obligations I don’t have time to use it. The
boat also comes with a 100 lb aluminum trailer with taillights that uses a 1-
7/8 in ball.
