1945 APHIBIOUS TRUCK BY GMC

DUKW-353 Vin # 20266

WW II GMC DUKW, this 2 1/2 ton truck has the original 270 GMC engine that runs very good and starts up easily. Great oil pressure and runs smooth. Trans and clutch work great. The  DUKW engine is the same for all GMC 270ci engines. This same drive train is also used in the WWII CCKW’s.

The Steering box is in good working condition and turns freely. This vehicle has the original winch, lifting loops, bilge pumps and mounts that were installed at the factory. The water drive (prop) box and the transfer case are there and in working condition but the levers have been removed for restoration. I have the parts and extras to put it back together and are included in the sale. In the photos you do not see the bulkhead behind the driver seat. I do have it and it goes with the DUKW. The driveshaft, diff and tube for the rear axle have been removed. If the hull bottom area of the DUKW was repaired it would float, but I must remind you that it needs a full restoration.

This DUKW is running and driving but needs brake work. The drive train is basically the same as a WWII GMC 2.5 truck with banjo axles. This vehicle is street legal after a full restoration. It can be driven on the road and into the water. It needs hull patching before swimming.

In the photo showing the drive shaft and bilge pump, that is water sitting on the bottom and not rust holes. This is in the tunnel drive area of the hull.
