1976 Austin Mini 1000 - One owner-car, 44,900 original miles (72,200 km). Seller can provide original Bill of Sale, original Owner's Manual and Build Date Confirmation Letter from British Leyland. Registered as a collector car in British Columbia.

It also has the original upholstelry (no sagging or pulling of interior door panels as is so often seen), carpeting and steering wheel (when was the last time you saw a Mini with the original steering wheel?).  This car is a time capsule!  It also has a working AM/FM radio/cassette player and block heater.  I'll throw in the car cover.

The car runs beautifully for an old gal.  There is no blue smoke or oil leaks.  Shifts cleanly and smoothly.

This car was thoroughly inspected by government-authorized mechanics 4 years ago in order to qualify for British Columbia safety and licensing requirements and passed with flying colours.

In the last few years, the following has been done:

Ground valves, new exhaust system, new front fenders (the fender replacement was done with rivets instead of welding - see picture), new front grill with trim and side trim, new quarter panels, new transoms under doors, new cowling located at rear under bumper, new locking/finish strip on front and rear windows, new windshield wipers, rusted body metal removed and repaired/replaced where required, caulking in roof gutters removed, rust removed, new caulking installed. Cleaned, derusted and painted rear subframe. Old undercoating removed from complete underbody including wheel wells, surfaces were cleaned and new undercoating applied. Front subframe - cleaned, inspected and repainted. Cleaned and inspected complete braking system. Repaired wheel brake cylinders as required. Adjusted brakes. New fuel pump, rebuilt carb.  Car professionally repainted in original "Sand Glow" colour.  Much of this work was done to elimate the inevitable rust problems.  To the best of my knowledge, she is now rust-free (including floorboards under carpeting - see photos). 

Defects:  The rear carpet has deteriorated slightly where the exhaust runs under the car and the front driver's seat has three small repaired splits in it.  Some surface rust has been recently noted in the engine compartment - See the pictures.

Deposit of thirty (30%) of winning bid amount required from successful bidder within 72 hours of close of auction by way of certified cheque or bank draft from a U.S. or Canadian bank, otherwise transaction will be considered null and void.  Balance of price is to be paid within seven (7) days of auction close, also by way of certified cheque or bank draft.  Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipment of vehicle and for licencing and registration in the jurisdiction of buyer.  Seller will do all possible to assist with smooth transition but will only store vehicle for a period of one month from close of auction.  If buyer has not obtained the vehicle by then, the seller will assume that the buyer has no further interest in completing the transaction (unless there are extenuating circumstances and both the buyer and seller have agreed, in writing, to extend the storage time).
