This auction is for a 1961 Bentley S2, a distinguished British classic and icon. The car has recently been used in my Antique limo business, so you know you are getting one sharp car that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. The car is in great condition outside, inside, and under the hood. The Bentley was garaged for most of its life until I purchased the car in the spring of 2006 and brought it to Massachusetts from Oklahoma. This '61 Bentley S2 is powered by the original 8 cylinder engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, power-assisted steering, power-assisted brakes, and traditional right-hand drive. Since arriving in Massachusetts, the engine has been tuned up by a Certified Technician who also has done most of the maintenance on the vehicle. A new battery was also recently installed.

EXTERIOR/INTERIOR

The Bentley was repainted white after arriving in Massachusetts. The car features chrome trim on the hood, around the windows, and down the length of the car above and below the doors. The trunk does have a full size spare. The inside is clean, comfortable, and elegant featuring the classic wood trim on the doors and dash in excellent condition. The headliner is excellent and looks original, the carpet is in good shape, and the seats could use conditioning but still look good. The front bench seats have separate seat backs and center armrest. The rear bench seats also feature the center armrest for extra comfort. The customary wood-finished pullout trays look great, 2 on the rear side of the front seats and one at the bottom of the middle section of the dash. The waste rails that overlay base of the floors underneath the doors are all present. To keep your passengers comfortable, there is air conditioning in the rear. The car also features a new AM/FM Stereo with CD player, a must for entertaining others and imperative for anyone that enjoys listening to music while cruising around.

VEHICLE CONDITION

This 1961 Bentley is in great condition outside, inside, and under the hood. Please keep in mind you are seeing reflections, shadows, and the camera flash on the car. The paint and chrome are not perfect but look great. There are a couple of small dings one on the front bumper and one on the grill that is very subtle. The power windows need to be adjusted and are sticking. The wheel wells, floorboards, engine bay, trunk, and undercarriage are clean from rust/rot , just not professionally detailed (see photos). The inside is clean, comfortable, and looks good just some imperfection where the wood cracked on the top of the dash, also there are a couple of pebble marks on the front window. Mechanically the car is in great shape and runs fine. The whitewall tires have plenty of tread left. All electronics (lights, wipers, gauges, stereo, etc.) are working. Since I have had it I have not had to do anything major to the vehicle except for fresh paint. The new paint job looks great except there is a run on the front fender that can be sanded out and touched up. A new electronic ignition was installed as well for a more dependable start and smoother running with a hotter spark. This vehicle runs very smooth and has great power in the original motor. This has great potential for a collector, or limo business.

A 10% deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.  This deposit is non-refundable, so serious bidders only please.  A cashier's check, certified check from a bank, or bank wire are all acceptable forms of the deposit payment.  The remainder of the balance will be due and all funds cleared by our bank before shipment or picking up the vehicle.  No release or transfer of title will also occur without completed payment.  We would appreciate this being complete no more than ten days from the end of the auction.  Delivery/Pickup arrangements and all associated expenses are to be paid by the winner, and we will be happy to coordinate with the winner to ensure this all goes smoothly.
