07/17/2008 Update - Just an FYI, the 34,006 miles was the mileage on the car the day it was listed.  While I don't expect to drive more than 25 miles a day, I wanted to make sure it was clear that everyone knows that the car will have more than 34,006 miles on it at the time the auction ends.  I don't expect there to be more than 34,306 miles though - since I am only driving the car to/from work.

Also, the car has not had any paint or body work completed, as I've noted in the question/answer section of the auction.  While I have used touch-up paint where the paint has chipped (which I tried to capture in the photos below), I don't really consider this paint work.  I can attach more photos if needed to prove that the body parts are all still from the factory.  Just let me know.

One more thing.  There are two spots on the passenger side of the car where it looks like I have been ding'd by other cars.  I cannot get either one of them to show up in a photo, because they are too minor for the camera to see with all the reflections coming off the clearcoat paint.  The first is in the middle of the drivers side door and can only be seen if you are standing next to the front tire and then move up and down.  This is more of a line than a dot.  The second is behind the back tire and is the smaller of the two and resembles more of a dot.  I tried to take pictures to demonstrate what I am trying to explain, but all I could see were reflections off the car.  I didn't notice these before and just noticed them this morning when I took a walk around the car to see if I could find anything else to document.

Since this is an auction, I want to be fully clear to document everything I know about/see on my car. 

You are bidding on a single-owner 2004 Acura RSX Type-S.

Back Story: I originally planned to keep this car for my son to drive when he turned 16.  What I did not realize is that after he reached the age of 8 there really wasn't a lot of room for him to ride in the back seat of the car.  Also, he is not really into the car as much as I thought he would be ... as I was with cars at the same age.  As a result, I am planning to sell this car, then purchase another vehicle with more back seat room for him.

I purchased this car from a local Acura dealer in July of 2004 and there is not a single mile on the 34,006 miles that I was not involved with ... meaning, no one has taken this car for a joy ride without my knowledge.  The car has been a daily driver for me, to commute back and forth to work (~16 miles round trip) where the car is parked in a covered parking facility.  At the same time, the car has never been at excessive speed or ever driven at the redline.  Remember, my plan was to keep this car for my son - so I took extremely great care of the car.

In city driving, this car has excellent pick-up and will still generate between 25 - 27 miles per gallon.  When I have tracked my mileage on the interstate, I have seen 31 - 32 miles per gallon when staying around 60 miles per hour.

The following modifications have been made to the car:

• Front and Rear Spoilers - added by Acura dealership
• Fog Lights - added by Acura dealership
• Street Legal Window Tinting - added by Acura dealership (business partner)
• All Weather Floormats (front only) - purchased by Acura dealership
• All Weather Trunk Mat - added by Acura dealership
• Splash Guards - added by Acura dealership
• AEM V2 Cool Air Intake - self-installed with assistance from former Indy Car mechanic
• Painted Brake Calibers (blue) - self-completed with assistance from former Indy Car mechanic

Other than the one free oil change at the dealership, I have personally completed all the oil changes and tire rotations myself.  Included with the car are a few of the crush washers, which are required when changing the oil.  Believe it or not, the Acura dealer would give me a handful for free each time I was near a dealership.  The car is ready for another coat of wax, but I am going to hold off, in case the new owner has a wax preference different than my own. In other words, I will let the new owner wax the car next.

The driver-side window was looked at by the dealer about two years ago, because the auto-down and auto-up functions will function half-way, then revert to the previous direction.  The dealer could not find a serious problem after they used some type of cleaner on the window switch.  At times the window still has this issue, but it doesn't bother me during my daily drives.  I don't know how they cleaned the switch before and haven't tried to clean it since.

This car is four years old and I've taken the best possible care that I can on the car, but keep in mind, the car is used.  I have used a Synthetic Blend of motor oil and burned Premium Fuel in the car.  As noted above, the car averages ~31 mpg on highway trips and ~26 mpg in the city.

The car comes with both stock floor mats and all weather floor mats. The all weather mats have been used the majority of the time.

The factory front spoiler is included and will be in the trunk of the car.
