2000 Model Porsche 996 GT3 Cup that was run in 5 Formula 1 support races in 2000. Unlike many Cup cars, this car has Farnbacher professional racing provenance in Europe. I also think this is one of 2 original Guards Red cars built by Porsche in 2000 - most are white. This is a factory-built Porsche race car from the tub, cage, built-in air jacks, etc up, not a converted street car. I have all the logbooks and paperwork from the original Wagenpass in 2000, to the EPA/DOT importation papers, to the current PCA and SCCA logbooks. It has current PCA logbook and harness and safety equipment are current for SCCA and NASA competition, all you need is to go through tech. The car had a PMNA engine and gearbox in July 2004 and has 50 total running hours verifiable via Hobbs meter - beware optimistic hour estimates in other Cup cars - they probably count up races and underestimate total running time. There has never been any tub damage to this car and it has the the following updates and/or new parts:
- New late model front calipers
- Professional front brake ducts (greatly improve brake wear and feel and hub life)
- Nerf bar behind front fascia to protect radiators
- New Clutch and pressure plate
- Carbon fiber air box
- 2004 Seat
- Schroth harnesses for HANS
- New Windshield
- Cosmetically fresh
- Cool Suit ready
- Hobbs hour meter - engine has 50 hours
- AiM Pista dash including GPS module for data logging with stock dash still functional as backup
- 3 Full sets of wheels & tires (one set Michelin Rains, 2 sets Michelin Porsche Cup Blue Slicks with about 4 heat cycles each)
- Wired for radios
- Exhaust deletes factory mufflers (factory mufflers included)
- High rear wing with Gurney flap
- TRG rear toe links
- New front splitter ready to be installed (I recommend you practice without it first)
This car is a very strong early 996 Cup - In my first visit to Sebring I ran 2:15.5 and am confident there was more in it; My first trip to Road America I was able to run 2:21.2 with well used tires. I have turned 1:15s at my home track MotorSport Ranch on the 1.7 course. It has been professionally maintained by Topp Racing here at MotorSport Ranch and can be seen and driven (only for very serious buyers who place a deposit) at MotorSport Ranch by appointment.
I welcome inspections on appointment.
