Chassis: 1970 - 106IN Wheelbase, mild steel, “Flying W Style” former Fuel Funny Car. Do not know whose or whom the manufacturer was. Chassis is a hard tail and will fit although tight, A large size driver (I’m 6.2” 230 lbs.). Car has current March, 2007 NHRA Tag, good until March, 2010. I have certified the car 4 times and never had any trouble.
Driveline: TPI Powerglide with Transbrake, built with Hughes Performance Parts. 4500 stall Hughes Torque Converter. Narrowed 9 inch with 4:56 gears Willwood Disc Brakes and Strange Axles.
Electronics: MSD 7AL-2 Ignition controller with a-two-step rev limiter. MSD Billet Distributor, MSD Pro Power Coil and MSD Super Conductor wire set. MSD timing retard modular. Auto meter 5” tach with shift lift and low oil pressure light. Mallory Series 250 fuel pump.
Engine: 1969 Mopar 440 HP Block. .30 over. Stock steel crankshaft and rods. .30 over 12:1 J & E domed pistons (very light weight). Rotary assembly was completely balanced and I have the spec. sheet. Chet Herbert Roller CAM, .648 Intake, and .648 exhaust lift. 297 degree intake and 305 degree exhaust duration or 264 degree intake and 272 exhaust at .050 degrees tappet lift. Crane Roller lifters, heads are Mopar 906 castings, with large 2.14 IN and 1.81 exhaust valves. Also, machined for large K-motion double valve springs. The block and heads have been decked. .20. Engine has roughly 13:1 compression. Mopar Performance M-1 single plane manifold and a Demon 920 Dr Carburetor.
Miscellaneous: Car weight is 1,780 lbs wet. It has went as facts 8.90 seconds, 150 mph in current trim. With easy tune-up it goes 9.20 all day. I run NHRA Division 3 Pro Class (no delay boxes) which has 9.50 Bump. I set car up for that and it will run the number at 135 to 140 mph, all day, any day. I launch car at 4200 RPM, and shift it at 6400 PPM and car goes through lights at 6800 RPM, straight, every time. This car wins races and is turn key ready to run…Now!
