1964 Studebaker Daytona Convertible Very Rare Indeed

When was the last time that you saw one of these? I am pleased to present this 1964 Studebaker Daytona Convertible. This car has been beautifully restored and was quite a pleasure to drive with it's 259 V-8 motor. Finished in white with red vinyl interior and white top, this Studebaker is quite rare with only 703 examples produced with only 417 produced in the US (this being a US produced car).

This car is well documented with original owners manual and also includes a copy of the original build sheet (see picture). The build sheet shows that the car came from the factory with:

- 64VL84248 - decodes as 2 Dr. Convertible with V8 (the engine VIN tag shows 355 which I believe is the 355th convertible built)
- 13 - Painted in Astra White
- 14 - RV - Red Vinyl Interior
- 15 - White Convertible Top
- 19 - Flight O Matic
- 38 - Power Steering
- 39 - Power Brakes
- 43 - Individual Reclining Seat
- 51 - White Sidewalls
- 60 - Climatizer - heater and defroster
- 66 - Radio Push Button
- 70 - Undercoating
- X79 - Wheel Disc (hub caps)
- X81 - Belts

The current owner has done an excellent job maintaining this car. Recently, he has done the following:

- New top cylinders (power top works great)
- Brakes gone thru to include drums, linings, master cylinder and wheel cylinders
- Re-chromed bumpers
- 100% exhaust replacement
- Power steering pump rebuilt
- Carb rebuilt
- Added electric fuel pump
- Heater re-cored
- New water pump
- Trans was rebuilt in 2000

The odometer shows 18,000 (more likely 118,000 miles) but miles since restoration is unknown.

A Brief History of this Car

According to the owner (and the build sheet), this car was originally delivered in Florida. At some point early in it's life, it resided in California, South Carolina and then Michigan where it was restored. It now resides in Illinois.
