Up for sale is this custom designed sports car. It is an ultra high performance vehicle with a power to weight ratio equal to or better than most current exotic sports cars. It will out accelerate most cars on the road. It was a project that my buddy and I took on in our attempts to make something similar to the Ariel Atom. As you can tell from the pictures, it looks very similar to the Atom. This project involved roughly a years worth of work for the both of us.
Videos of the car (the car has changed since these videos were taken):

Here are some specs on the car:
Engine: 2004 Dodge neon SRT-4. 2.4 Liter turbocharged. This engine is rate at 230 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. This engine is known to be underrated in power and people frequently find to have 230 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque at the wheels stock. With the mods, the engine should be making much more although we have never tested. We have a short 3” exhaust, high flow cat, Borla muffler, K&N air filter, and Mopar blow off valve for those of you who love that turbo whistle every time you shift. The engine has a very unique and deep sound unlike any four cylinder engine.
Weight: 1200 lbs (estimated)
Drive train: Rear wheel drive, five speed manual transmission, Quaife limited slip differential, custom length drive shaft shop axles rated to handle up to 550hp at the wheels.
Wheels and tires: Enkei rims with high gripping BF Goodrich KDW tires. Tire size is 225/45ZR16 in the rear and 205/50ZR15 in the front.
Chassis: Hand welded (MIG welding), high carbon steel large diameter tubing. The chassis sort of looks like the exoskeleton of the car and not only is very stiff which allows for superior handling, it serves as a protective cage in the event of an accident.
Suspension: The suspension was designed with high cornering ability in mind. It is very similar to a formula one car’s suspension. It offers double, unequal length A-arms made of steel tubing. Rod ends hold the knuckles while the A-arms are attached to the chassis via stiff polyurethane bushings.
Steering: Rack and pinion with 1.75 turns lock to lock. For those of you who don’t know that’s a quick ratio which means the wheels turn more for less steering wheel movement. Since the car has a low weight at the front end, the steering is not power assisted.
Brakes: Four wheel disk, non power assisted. The brakes are very large in comparison to the cars weight. This car stops very quickly. There is also a brake biasing valve which allows you to control the ratio of braking between the front and rear.
Fuel management: 5 gallon fuel tank with a very large fuel pump pressure regulator. If the next owner was to ever modify the engine for more power, the fuel system is ready to handle it.
Paint: The chassis and the suspension were powder coated as you see in the photos.
This car is for the enthusiast who loves performance driving. If you want a vehicle that stands out, and performs like an exotic, this is the car for you. Only with this you are going to pay a fraction you would compared to any other performance car. The car cost us about $18,000 in all the parts put into it. That does not include the hundreds of hours we put into building it.
Currently, this car is not street legal. However, it is perfectly capable of becoming street legal. We have been in communication with the New York State DMV and have sent them photos and specs on the car. We have received the initial paperwork from them to begin the process of putting it on the road legally. In order to make it happen, a few more modifications are required such as lights, and other minor details. The potential buyer could purchase the car with the intention of putting in the work to put it on the road. They will have an amazing, fast, and eye catching pride and joy for a lot less then they would be paying for something like an Ariel Atom, or anything of that sort. Or they could us the car as is, and enjoy it on the track or on autocross. This car is car is perfect for autocross and would be very competitive.
The car is available for viewing and test drives for SERIOUS buyers only. Feel free to ask any other questions.
I am looking to get about 18k for this car but if you are interested, make me an offer and maybe we can work something out.
