I bought this truck for the Heil 9' dump body, but decided to build a different truck that needed a 10' body. It hadn't been run for about 3 or 4 years. I put batteries in it, a few new cables , new fuel filters and pushed the starter button. I don't think it turned over twice and was running. This is on fuel that's also 3 or 4 years old. I was always a Cummins guy, but this old 671 Detroit kind of impressed me.
The worst rust you can see in the pictures. Floors are pretty solid. That might be because of the 671. I was told by an employee of the guy I bought it from that the 10 speed shifts perfectly and doesn't come out of any gears. The rear end was rebuilt by Camerota's just before they stopped running the truck. The owner told me the engine was rebuilt about a 100,000 miles ago at the International dealer in Torrington,CT. So all in all the truck is probably usable. You might be able to change some fluids, tell it you love it and put it to work. It would certainly be great on a site where you needed something low geared and short. The body goes up and down and I assume the Richard's load cover works. It still needs a new cable to the batteries to find out. Don't know about the condition of the tarp.
