For sale is a 1942 Dodge WC-54 3/4 ton Ambulance. This truck is in driving condition but has not been restored. Most everything on the truck is working. It has been to airshows, and other events for display. It is currently licensed in California. It can be viewed at my business in So. California. It has oversized military tires on the combat wheels now. The electrical system is standard 6 volts. The heater works. I have additional parts available. The seats inside were missing when I bought it and the ones installed now are not original. Please email me with more questions you might have and I will do my best to answer them. It would be a great truck for someone to restore or drive it as is. Most or the glass has been changed. The front windshield does open up. This truck is a real attention getter with the all who see it. Buyer would have to handle the shipping. This truck runs about 40 to 45 mph on flat ground. Thanks for looking.

On Jul-01-08 at 13:28:13 PDT, seller added the following information:Since I have had so many questions about the ambulance and the reserve price is getting close I decided to post a few more things that might help with someones decision. Some questions have been about drive train. Motor, trans, transfer case, hubs, rear end (front & rear) are working. The truck smokes some when you push it hard. It's heavy. 6000# Starting is easy. I had a starter guy make the 6 volt starter spin faster. Charging system is good. Wiring is original and fair. I changed all the fluids 4-1/2 years ago. Gas gauge not working. I have a new sender unit. It installs thru the bed inside the truck. All lights, & stop lights working. Brakes good,I know I changed the hoses. Master cylinder good. I think we changed some of the brake shoes. Wheel cylinders new. Water pump was new. The body has some minor rust along the top of the roof over the medical crosses on the side. The running boards have a patch or two on them. The body is in pretty decent shape for a 66 year old truck. A few bad places at the bottom of the rear doors. When I bought it it had been in Calif for at least 30 years. At least the old lic plate was Calif. Some spare parts I have are. (1) extra large tire. Original fuel filter housing.(needs to be cleaned up) Vacume wipers and the arms with a rebuild kit.(NOS) Defrost motor. It's not installed in truck.A starter repair kit. (NOS) 2 manuals. Lug wrench, Quart of olive drab type paint. I hope this helps. I want the buyer to be satisfied with the purchase. We can assist with loading at my shop. Looking at my receipts these new parts were put on 2003 Again it's a running, driving truck. Terry | | |
