Up for auction is a 1970 BMW 2800 CS Automatic. Bought it to restore, but there is rust damage in the frame railing under the car and would rather not deal with something like that. It runs and drives and it is pretty complete with all chrome trim and glass. Will part it out if I cannot sell it whole, but decided to give it a shot to see if someone is interested.
There is quite a bit of rust which may be salvageable for the right individual with the right resources. It has rust on the hood, shock towers, roof, trunk, floor boards, frame railing. It could also be a donor car or parts car as it is pretty complete in terms of lights, chrome trim, etc. The interior also needs restoration as well. As far as I can tell, it is missing one of the door ashtrays, sunroof liner, front right turn signal. Parting out could be profitable for someone with the time.
Again, frame railing and floor boards are rusted, frame started crumbling when lifting. It runs and drives, but would not recommend without fixing the frame damage. Trying to be as forthcoming as possible, please e-mail with questions and will try to respond promptly.
