Vehicle Description

This is a very nice running 1968 Ducati wide case 350 Scrambler. I owned this motorcycle from 1968 until 1970 when I sold it to a college friend to buy a 450. The friend died about 10 years ago, and I eventually obtained the motorcycle from his widow.
The bike ran well, but needed some refurbishing
It has the following: New wiring and switches. New Flanders handlebar (same bend as original). New OEM hand levers (rare). New stainless spokes. Polished alloy rims. Chrome parts re-plated (lever supports, shifter, exhaust pipe, etc.). Powder coated frame. Reupholstered original seat pan (slightly modified). New forks and shocks (the original forks were more trouble than they were worth to me, although I still have them, I think). New OEM Veglia speedometer and cable (original speedo was missing, so actual mileage is unknown; but would estimate at easily under 20,000). All new nylon lined control cables. Fresh internal carburetor components.
The sheet metal is not stock, but looks good. The tank is an after-market "peanut tank," and is rubber mounted. The fenders came off of other bikes, and were adapted (rear one from a Harley 350 Sprint, the front one from a Harley Sportster). Street tires because I don't ride it in the dirt. Fairly tall gearing with new sprockets and the top-of-the-line D.I.D. heavy duty non-O-Ring 428 chain. I personally prefer non O-Ring chains for the street because they are smoother, and last a long time when they are good chains and are well maintained.
Still has the stock horn, and it works fine.
This bike is cute and runs beautifully. The carburetor is spot on, the ignition components are all good, and I always use a strobe light for timing. It starts very easily (assuming you know how), and does just fine on regular gas.
I am selling the bike ONLY because I need the money for medical purposes. I am almost 60 years old now, and we don't always get to keep all of our cool stuff at this age. I have a couple of other bikes listed also. Just as nice, but quite different. I've been in the bike bizz for about 40 years or so.
So there you have it. Please do not bid on this bike if you don't know what it is. Tire kickers and throttle twisters please don't waste my time. This is a mechanically excellent vintage Ducati motorcycle. I hope it finds a worthy home.
I am pleased to entertain any and all questions, so feel free to ask if I've left something out.
Can arrange for uncrated, dependable, professional, reasonably priced motorcycle shipping to the 48 contiguous states. Contact me about that if you're interested. Local pick-up is also fine.
I will require at least a $250 non-refundable deposit within 72 hours of the auction closing, and full payment prior to shipping and/or transfer of title; and that should occur within 7 days of closing unless other arrangements are made with me prior to the end of the auction. I accept and prefer PayPal, but will also take Money Orders and Cashier's Checks, but they will of course have to clear the bank.
This vehicle is sold AS-IS with no returns accepted. It is what it is, and I have done my level best to accurately describe it. I don't even want to sell it, but I have to.
