Item Description
Classic 8 Ft Dyer Dinghy, Dingy, Fresh Paint & Varnish
Vehicle Description

This is an older Dyer Midget dinghy in VERY GOOD CONDITION. It is the smallest, at 7 feet, 11 inches and the most popular model Dyer. Check out the Dyer website, http://www.dyerboats.com/dinghies.html for specs. There are two sets of oarlocks so the dinghy may be rowed from any seat. There is the original factory floatation beneath both the forward and aft seats. Note the custom bronze work on the forward and aft seat hangers. I suspect those horizontal pieces were welded in to allow the dinghy to be hung from davits. This dinghy has just been painted (spray) with two-part Interlux and the seats removed, sanded, 8 coats of Bristol Varnish applied and reinstalled. There is a small, faint, dime size bug stain on the bottom and a small paint sag under one of the rubber gunwales but otherwise it’s a good paint job and looks great. The gunwales are painted white and appear to have been repaired in a couple of places. Non stainless fasteners were used to attach the rubber rub-rail and are showing rust stains. A nice, but heavy set of oars are included, one of which appears to have been repaired with fiberglass. The leathers are in usable condition. This dinghy is only available for pick up 60 miles north of New York City, or I can deliver it along the coast of Connecticut the next time I go to Newport RI, probably within a month. If Buy-It-Now is used, I can deliver it along the CT coast next week for an extra $100 for gas. The reserve is $500 but the $1200 B-I-N price is fair for a classic Dyer dinghy like this. $200 PayPal deposit required with 48 hours of end of auction. Dinghy is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please email me with any questions although it may take me a couple of days to get back to you. Thank for looking. Happy boating.
