This is a 1998.5 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Laramie QuadCab Long Bed with The 24 Valve Diesel Engine, and 5 Speed Transmission. The owner of this truck is a mechanic, and has done all of the upgrades to this vehicle himself. He has also maintained this truck with the utmost of care and diligence.
The upgrades that were made to this truck started in January of 2003, and consist of a complete Gale Banks Power Pack System, which included:
- Upgraded turbo housing
- Complete stainless steel exhaust system
- Big Head waste gate actuator
- K&N air filter
- High Ram air inlet
- Turbo boost gauge
- Exhaust gas temperature gauge
The package also included the Ottomind diesel tuner to run all those parts efficiently. This system is good for an additional 145 H.P. and 288 ft. lbs. of torque, and 12% better fuel mileage.
The owner also bought the optional Banks Power Elbow to replace the stock elbow that goes on the exhaust side of the turbo to make the exhaust a true free flowing system. This package was professionally installed by the owner, and really awoke the power in this truck. The fuel mileage was also a bit better (20—23 MPG highway).

Power electric adjustable and heated towing mirrors. They can move in or out horizontally.
On the truck pickup bed is a Pace Edwards Roll-up Bed Cover
(vinyl covering has some splits, but cover works exactly as it should)
The next upgrade that was performed was the addition of a set of four (4) Weld Racing Forged aluminum chrome plated 16” wheels, and a set of Michelin LT245/75/16E 10 ply tires, and a wheel alignment, which really brought a lot better handling to the truck, not to mention much better looks.
Next was the addition of a set of full-length fiberglass running boards, and a Lund sun visor with clearance lights. These parts were painted to perfectly match the truck, then installed and wired.
Then it was time to install the 5th wheel rails for the 5th wheel hitch (rails are included, but 5th wheel hitch does not go with the purchase of this vehicle). Included also is a digital electronic brake controller, and light connector plugs, which the present owner installed to his 30 foot 5th wheel trailer and Drag Race Car to the drag strip. The included Vinyl covered aluminum Pace Edwards roll-up bed cover was installed to cover all the tow equipment when not towing.
Next it was time to get the sound system upgraded from factory stock. The owner installed a complete Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3/XM ready stereo with a removable face plate, and a full set (4) of 3-way Pioneer matching speakers and upgraded the tweeters in the windshield pillars. Sounds Excellent!

This is truly a one-of-a-kind truck
The 230,494 miles, are miles that have been very well kept
Other upgrades consisted of a new lift pump for the fuel system from a 2003 Dodge which is now inside the fuel tank, instead of being mounted to the side of the engine block. That is the only way Dodge will sell them for this year truck. The new lift pump also included a new fuel gauge sending unit. This new system is much quieter, and more efficient.
The driving lights in the bumper were also upgraded to 2001 lights, and a Fire Stick light bar was added to the rear just under the tailgate for safety at night.
The maintenance performed on this truck has been impeccable: from the new rubber door seals, to the new ignition switch, the new throttle pedal position sensor, the rebuilt starter, the new Bosch batteries, the coolant system flushes, the valve adjustments, the rear end / transmission / engine oil changes, the new A/C evaporator, the new heater core, the new brakes, and on, and on, and on. I am sure we have forgotten to list lots of the personal care over the years -- there is literally too much to list completely. This is a highly maintained truck.
Please make sure you watch the video’s (especially the oil one). When was the last time you saw a diesel engine have oil that looked like this one? Usually new diesel oil turns black within the first minute of running, -- this oil has over 500 miles on it! That is a tribute to how well this truck has been maintained. Frankly -- this is the nicest 1998 Dodge Diesel Truck for sale on the Internet, so you can bid with confidence.

Interior: The interior is very clean and in good condition. It has no tears or rips.
Exterior: The body is straight and rust free. Never been in an accident that present owner is aware of. It has minor scratches and blemishes that are consistent with a ten year old truck, considered the lightest normal wear and tear.
Mechanically: Mechanically superior condition -- this truck has been very well taken care of by the mechanic owner.The videos show how fine this vehicle is. The video in which the oil dip stick is removed and examined shows that it is nearly translucent, it has been well cared for -- on a diesel, oil is usually dark. This truck is so clean inside out and under the hood as well as mechanically and performance wise in tip-top shape.
