Planned to restore my baby, but that’s not reality. I’m the original owner. Not currently running, needs a fuel pump. Ran fine until the fuel pump went up, must be towed away from my driveway now. I won't delliver her. Car is near Ocean City, Maryland. Factory rebuilt 12A engine and rebuilt tranny with less than 30k miles on them. Newish battery. New driveshaft, rebuilt gas tank, lots of other new parts. Interior clean. Very good rubber on original wheels in good shape. A/C (original Freon) not working. Extra radio, gauge cluster, driver’s seat, console, new steel rocker panels in box, probably a bunch of other stuff. DOWNSIDE: floor pans are very rusty, rear quarter panels and rocker panels also have some rust. Probably makes it a parts car. Clean Maryland title. Hate to get rid of her after 24 years, but I don’t need a 3rd car and I do need the garage space. On Jul-06-08 at 09:07:33 PDT, seller added the following information:Neglected to mention that the windshield is cracked in the lower left corner. Also, an answer to an important question about rust:
From the exterior the body panels look OK. I'd have to crawl under the car to show the most rust and it is too low to the ground to do so. There are some bubbles beneath the paint at the bottom of the passenger door and also some beneath the rubber trim on the driver's side quarter panel, which indicates rust under the surface. The driver's side quarter panel is also rusted through beneath the trim and behind the rear wheel, but the rust has been filled and painted. If the rust were limited to the panels I wouldn't be listing the car. The floor pans are the real issue and I can tell you that they are badly corroded. Because the rear axle bolts to beackets that are part of the pans, not directly to the frame, there is a risk of having the axle fall out after slamming into a deep pothole, for example. This is why I have called it a parts car and not a project car. Wanna replace the pans? Can be done, but it is difficult. There is no significant rust on the frame - a couple of surface areas that should be easily repaired. | | |
