Cobia 189XL Monte Carlo

Vehicle Description

Up for bids is a 1998 Cobia 189XL Monte Carlo. It has a 165HP Mercruiser 3.7L Engine with a Mercruiser Alpha One outdrive. Only has 366 hours on it. Included with this is a Loadrite Trailer, Uniden Solara Marine radio, Hummingbird Wide Eye depth guage/fish finder, Blaupunkt am/fm cassette radio, dock bumpers, 12 assorted size life vests, float cushion, emergency flare kit, and a snap on cover that is in VERY good condition. Hardly ever used and has CLEAR windows.

The motor has a closed cooling system with good anti freeze in it. It could probably stand a tune up. Has a good battery. This boat has only been run in fresh water. I'm not exactly sure on fuel capacity. I've had it out for full days and have never run out of gas. The hull could use a good polishing/wet sanding to shine it up. It's a little sun faded.

The trailer will probably need one tire. It looks a little dry rotted, but still holds air. Other than than that, it has some surface rust but is in good shape otherwise.

It's pretty fast and is GREAT for tubing and water skiing. It has dual hook-up points, and dual diving platforms on the back.

This boat is sold AS_IS. The ONLY reason that i'm selling it is because we do more camping than boating. I really hate to see it go.

Wanted to add---The seats have a couple of small tears in them on the top from people sitting on the tops of the seats. They were this way when I bought the boat, but I never got around to fixing them. I do have some patching material for them.

Also, I am reducing the reserve on this to $7,000.

In answer to a few questions that I received---The out-drive work great. I've never had any problem with it. The prop is good too. The power trim works perfect. The hull is in great shape also. There are 3 surface chips in the gel coat (as seen in the new pics.) but there is no leakage. No stress cracks at all. This boat has never been grounded or run up on a beach. I bought it in April 2006 at Lancaster County Marine and it was completely serviced when I bought it.
