For sale is my 1971 MGB. $2,000.00 selling price. WILL SELL FOR 2k, THATS IT. FINAL LISTING. I'LL LEAVE IT IN MY GARAGE, AND PLAY W/IT OCCASIONALLY. This car is just a driver, nothing fancy, fussed over, or over priced. I have owned it for 3 years, and have learned much about the MG marque. It is enjoyable in an elemental way, to drive with the wind and the motor and exhaust playing a tune. The steering is exact, the shifter is crisp, despite over 130,000 miles.
I took it out for a run yesterday, it pulled strongly to about 75 mph on the hiway, and stopped and steered properly.
Here is the GOOD: Dual carbs are rebuilt. Pertronix ignition and 40K volt coil offer instant starts every time, you will never fool with changing points, and gives a bit better performance. New brakes all around, including new rotors, calipers, rear cylinders. Four new tires.
New battery, tune-up, oil pressure gauge-shows 60 lbs at idle. Seats professionally recovered in hunter green and black vinyl. New walnut shift knob. 100watt fog lights, work. Car is British racing green dark.
Here is the Not Good: floors replaced, rivetted into place, can be welded. No top, frame is there. No title. Castle rails are funky, please look at pictures. They have been patched with fibreglass reinforced bondo. They can be re-done. Gauges do not function, odometer does not work; except for the tach, signal lights and brake lights, headlights DO WORK. $2,000.00 US funds to buy.
